| The Low Road Ramblers
are at home with a variety of American Roots
Music, from traditional country to old-time mountain music, with a bit of
gospel and bluegrass thrown in. |
|
|
Low Road
Ramblers is a merging of four
artists, each with a lengthy pedigree of performing in various Michigan
bands. The members are Ann Whitford, vocals and doghouse bass;
Eldon Whitford, vocals, lead guitar, and mandolin; John Warstler, vocals, rhythm
guitar, claw hammer banjo, and mandolin; and Dave Eggebrecht, vocals, high
and low fiddle, banjo, and mandolin.
This four piece acoustic band blends tight vocal harmonies
with instrumental work that can take your breath away.
Their music represents the eclectic genres heard from the
best bands on the old country music radio programs in the 50’s.

John
Warstler and Dave Eggebrecht have
been two of the busiest and best Michigan musicians over the past 30
years.
They have played with such Northern Michigan bands as the Boreal
String Band, Fog Harbor, the New Five Cent String Band, Horton Creek,
Frosty Morn, The Walloons, and The Loose Caboose, to name a few. |
|
Dave Eggebrecht brings
a diverse musical background to the band.
Early on he played in
the Saginaw Symphony, and has performed on various stages since, including some
of Wheatland’s earliest festivals.
Recently retired from teaching middle school, he's got even more time to
pursue his true passion: music. |

 |
John Warstler
was
a speech therapist, but like Dave, is now retired. The bulk of the rest of his life is filled with
musical endeavors. He is a veteran of many
festivals, including Wheatland, Hiawatha, and Bliss, to name only a
few. His solo CD,
“Solace and Grace,” is a much acclaimed collection of hymns, played in
beautiful fingerstyle guitar as only John can do.
